#56 - CHRISTMAS - HAPPINESS OR HELL?

  • With Christmas and New Year upon us, I had a think about what might be useful information to share for this time of year. Bingo! It struck me that so many of us have mixed emotions at this time - obligation, responsibility, loneliness, joy, expectations etc.

So I've collated a few words of wisdom (borrowed, of course) that may help those of us whose experience of Christmas and New Year is more "uncomfortably bad" than "unbelievably great" for whatever reason...

  • IT IS NEVER MY RESPONSIBILITY TO:
    • -
do more than I have time or energy to do
    • -
      conform to unreasonable demands
    • -
      be 100% perfect
    • -
      • fix everyone else's problems
    • -
      ensure everyone's else's happiness
    • -
      drain my strength for others

    • FRIENDSHIP:
    • -
Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.
    • -
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.
    • -
Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.
    • -
Good times made better and bad times forgotten, due to the healing magic of friendship.
    • So I hope with few these few words, we can be reminded that Christmas and New Year, while a time of love and friendship, are never times to give up who we are or be someone we are not.
